The Forever Purge

I find it strange that Blumhouse Productions would continue with The Purge series.  Financial returns and core fanbase aside, The Purge had just about explored all of its themes, politics, and ideologies – and all of it was practically satirized in jet black manner with Blumhouse’s The Hunt.  It’s almost expected that a new Purge movie would just be going through the motions, which is exactly what The Forever Purge does.

Minari

In Minari, a Korean family travels from California to build a new homestead in Arkansas;  in hopes that they’ll be able to create a farm and make a decent living selling their culture’s food to local markets.  This premise, however, is merely a clothesline for writer/director Lee Isaac Chung to hang up different moments in this family’s life that will, eventually, piece together their memories and future.
