The filmmaking ventures from the Cronenberg family continue, as Caitlin Cronenberg follows in the footsteps of her father David and brother Brandon.  Fortunately, her directorial debut Humane is much more of a reassuring spotlight on her potential as a storyteller.

Goon: Last of the Enforcers

Goon: Last of the Enforcers arrives five years after the surprise hit Goon, and it’s as if the audience never left these characters.  Even though the film is working under a different director (Jay Baruchel taking over for Michael Dowse), this sequel makes sure it stays within the same surly vein as its delightfully crude predecessor.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

By: Addison Wylie When a family favourite reaches for a sequel, the franchise has to be careful it doesn’t catch a case of contagious sequelitis.  For the much anticipated second part of the How to Train Your Dragon series, I’m happy to report that this latest adventure only suffers from slight sniffles.  Otherwise, this is the follow-up that the 2010 hit deserves.
